Reducing Poverty Through Education and Entrepreneurship
Working to reduce poverty and dependency in rural Sub-Saharan African communities and to help the most vulnerable and deprived members of the communities to transform their lives through primary education, skills training, trade and entrepreneurship
Our Work
At Every Village Matters, we are driven by a firm belief in the power of mutual cooperation as we work to alleviate poverty in rural communities of Sub-Saharan Africa. We partner with underserved communities to provide basic infrastructure, opportunities for better education, skills training, and other targeted support to help them transform their lives.
We aim to promote sustainable development and well-being and to help the local people to reduce the challenges and struggles they face in living their daily lives. Together we can make our rural communities better and safer places where every individual gets a fair chance in life no matter their age or economic situation.
Our Projects
Every year in communities across rural Sub-Saharan Africa, due to poverty, social deprivation and other issues, many children are dropping out of school. More young people are idling away at home, wares on the streets or forced to engage in criminal activities to fend for themselves. To help fight child poverty and deprivation, we are currently working in Amaimo to support vulnerable and marginalised children and young people to enrol into primary school or learn a trade through various projects…

Our Community Scholarship Programme
Our main goal is to drive down the numbers of out-of-school-children in Sub-Saharan Africa. This remains our focus in providing scholarships to some of the under-served children in Amaimo community as we seek to tear down every barrier to their learning in school.
We have now enrolled 140 children from seven local schools into our Community Scholarship Programme. To promote equal opportunities, we aim to sponsor five boys and five girls yearly from each of the schools and pay their learning costs until they graduate into secondary school including tuition fees, text and exercise books, school uniforms, shoes and bags. In total, we will sponsor 420 children by 2008!
Only $610 can keep ten children in each school learning for a whole year!

Delight is a delightsome little boy and one of the beneficiaries of our community scholarship programme. He is the third child of a family of six children who are all being cared for by their Father following the demise of their mother. Delight’s father speaks of his struggles with raising six children, including a three year old boy, as a single father in a rural community.
Please Donate and Help the Children to Play as They Learn
Playgrounds are rare facilities in the villages. Every Village Matters is constructing a community playground to benefit not just the 420 pupils we will be sponsoring but all the children in the Amaimo community.
