Chidiebube’s Story

Chidiebube dropped out of secondary school in his third year in high school. His father is a carpenter and his mother a housewife and their meagre family income meant the parents could not afford to pay his school fees in addition to raising seven other children. Even before the tender age of sixteen years, Chidiebube was already engaged in menial jobs just to survive. He was very happy and excited when the opportunity to learn a trade came through EVM.

We have opened a new bank account for Chidiebube and bought him a brand new mobile phone as part of our training package to prepare him for a career as a tradesperson. Apart from supporting  his family financially, Chidiebube now has future hopes of inspiring other young people like himself to get off the street and out of trouble to learn a trade, go on to train others, and contribute positively to their community’s entrepreneurial development.
