On December 29, 2024, Every Village Matters hosted a spectacular end-of-year funfair, bringing together 140 beneficiaries of our community scholarship program and their dedicated teachers for a day filled with joy, laughter, and entertainment. This highly anticipated event was not just a celebration but a heartfelt effort to spread happiness and create lasting memories for the children and educators who play a vital role in our community.

A Day of Fun, Laughter, and Excitement

From the moment the children arrived, the atmosphere was electric with excitement. We had promised them a truly magical experience, and we delivered beyond expectations. The highlight of the day was the grand entrance of Santa Claus, who came bearing gifts and warm smiles for every child. But Santa didn’t come alone—he was accompanied by the ever-entertaining MC Clown and his lively friends, Barney and Mickey Mouse, ensuring that the children were engaged in endless fun and laughter.

The funfair was packed with exciting activities, including:

• Bouncing castles and slides that had the kids jumping with excitement.
• Face painting, where children transformed into their favorite characters with vibrant colors.
• Dancing sessions, where the young ones and even the teachers showed off their best moves.

To make the day even more special, we organized prize-winning games and competitions, encouraging the children to participate in friendly challenges while earning fun rewards. Santa’s Christmas gift presentations were a major highlight, bringing smiles and joy as each child received a special gift. The teachers were not left out either—they had the chance to win exciting raffle draw prizes, recognizing their dedication and impact in shaping young minds.

A Feast of Holiday Delights

No celebration is complete without a delicious feast, and we made sure the children enjoyed a variety of treats. The event featured a delightful spread of food, drinks, popcorn, ice cream, ice lollies, and the much-loved Christmas cake. Every child had the opportunity to indulge in their favorite snacks, making the day even sweeter.

Honoring Special Guests and Community Leaders

The presence of esteemed guests and community leaders added great significance to the event. We were honored to welcome the former deputy governor of Imo State, who joined us in celebrating the achievements of the scholarship beneficiaries. The Eze (king) of the Obodo community also graced the occasion, accompanied by an entourage of heads of community groups and associations. Their support and encouragement underscored the importance of education and community engagement in uplifting young lives.

Beyond our scholarship beneficiaries, we were delighted to see many other children from the local community and neighboring villages join in the fun. Their presence highlighted the impact of such initiatives, bringing together children from different backgrounds to share in the joy of the season.
