It is commendable that, in the effort to create cities without slums, much attention is being paid to urban development. However, it seems like the rural areas have been forgotten. Our work has been inspired by the need to promote the integration of rural Sub-Saharan Africa into the global sustainable development agenda. We are starting at the grassroots, in the villages, with education, and particularly primary education.
We aim to help alleviate poverty in rural communities of Sub-Saharan Africa and transform the lives of the most deprived and vulnerable community members by working in collaboration with them to provide basic social amenities and promote sustainable development and well-being through opportunities for education, skills training, employment, trade and enterprise.
Our vision is to achieve rural sustainable development and reduction of poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa for global equality.
We seek to engage with rural Sub-Saharan African communities and work with their members, local and national governments, funding partners, and other stake holders to achieve the following:
Working in partnership with rural communities, we also have a vision for the longer term including:
Our values are centred around Philanthropy
We look out for others by generously giving our time, money, skills and other resources we have for a good cause
We do not ask “what’s in it for me” or “what do I receive in return…” It’s great to have a good reward for work well done, but we should always first seek to serve rather than be served.
We seek to help alleviate the suffering of disadvantaged and less privileged people.
